GREAT FUN FOR KIDS - Some Highlights!!

 

 FUN ACTIVITES FOR FAMILIES AROUND TOWN: 

  • AMISH CRAFTSMEN GUILD II Cedar Creek Settlement: Face Painting ages 2-12 on the patio at the Settlement. Free both days from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
  • BELLA LEI SALON SPA & BOUTIQUE - Washington Avenue:  "Beauty for a Cause" Event - Themed makeovers and quick beauty services.  All proceeds to benefit local non-profit.  Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. and Sunday 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
  • CEDAR CREEK SETTLEMENT CONTESTS - Bridge Rd. and Washington Avenue:  Free. Sign up at 11:30 a.m. Daily:
    • Kid's Grape Stomp: 1:00 p.m. & 3:00 p.m. Prizes!! 
    • Adult's Grape Stomp: 1:30 p.m. & 3:30 p.m. Prizes!!
       
  • CEDARBURG CULTURAL CENTER - Back Parking Lot off Mill St. and Portland Road:  Kohl's Color Wheel - a mobile art experience for kids
  • DOWNTOWN DOUGH - Washington Avenue:  Cookie decorating for kids ($1)
  • JEWELRY WORKS Bridge Road at Washington Avenue: Mine your own gemstones. Cut and polished ready. All day, both days. Fun for the whole family!

  • OZAUKEE COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY – Center St.: Free tours of historic Interurban Railway Depot. Both days from 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. One block west of Rivoli Theatre on Center St.
  • PUMPKIN CARVER STEVE DAHLKE – City Hall Lawn at Washington Avenue:  Watch as Steve carves large and small pumpkins into gorgeous and grotesque faces.  Saturday from 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
  • THE GEM SHOP - Washington Avenue:  Mine your own grab bag ($1).  Free geode cutting.  Sat. 9:30-5; Sun. 10-5
  • WISCONSIN MUSEUM OF QUILTS & FIBER ARTS – Portland Avenue: Pick up free hayride shuttle to museum at Portland Ave. and Mill St.  Museum open both days - Quilt Exhibits. Saturday only: Native American-themed activities and exhibit. Dance and drumming demonstrations from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m; Navajo paper making crafts at 9;00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. $6/person or $20/family of four. Includes all activities.

 

Giant Pumpkin Charity Regatta Sponsored by

Located at Mill Pond near the Cedar Creek Settlement

  • 10:00 a.m.:  Contestants began carving pumpkin boats
  • 1:30 p.m.:  Vote for best of show - carved pumpkin
  • 2:00 p.m.:  Hilarious 500 lb pumpkin boat race for Charity

  • 11:00 a.m.:  Paint a Pumpkin to take home, while supplies last. Free and sponsored by BMO Harris Bank.  Stop by and meet Hubert the Lion
  • 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.: Tea Party, dancing fairies, take away project for kids, and coloring tables sponsored by Impact Performing Art Center ($2 donation)
  • 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.:  Mind Reading Magician, Drum Circles, Living Statue and Farmer Josh, the Stilt Walker – various locations throughout Festival
  • All Day:  ID-a-Kid: Fingerprint identification cards sponsored by Prudential Financial
  • All Day:  Faces to Follow: Face painting, bling masks, capes
  • Bouncers in Cedar Creek Park and also in the Kid's Korner on Mill Street. 

More fun stuff all day: SpinArt, Shaved Ice and Kid’s Treats from Sweet Wheels.  Various dance performances on Mill St. near Port Washington State Bank.

 

Sunday, September 16

  • 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.: Tea Party, dancing fairies, take away project for kids, and coloring tables sponsored by Impact Performing Art Center ($2 donation)
  • 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.:  Geoff the Juggler, Sir Pinkerton, the magician, and J Bird the Chalk Artist, Popcorn the Clown – various locations throughout Festival
  • Mad Hatter Hat Station – free activity for kids, make and decorate a paper hat
