Plein
Air Painting Competition brings the artist outside to
work directly from nature. Nationally-recognized artists and amateurs
compete for cash awards. Art lovers are invited to come watch
the artists at work, then bid on your favorite piece in a silent
auction being held at the Cedarburg
Cultural Center on Saturday, June 28, 2008 from 10:00 a.m.—6:00
p.m. This is a call to artists and collectors alike. Artists interested

Plein
Air Painting Competition- (Youth Division)
This unique contest for children of all ages 17 and under is believed
to be the only one of its kind in the nation. In partnership with
the Cedarburg Artists Guild, the Cedarburg
Cultural Center is pleased to announce its fifth annual “Plein
Air” Painting Contest-Youth Division. Young artists interested
in artistically portraying Cedarburg’s charm can register

Calling all artists... Strawberry Festival T-shirt Design
Contest is seeking t-shirt designs for our 2008 Strawberry
Festival. At the close of the contest the Festival staff will
review all of the submissions and declare a winner. The winner
of the design contest will receive a $100 and a free T-shirt as
well as the honor of seeing all the festival-goers who purchase
a shirt, wear them proudly. The contest is open to all. Click

Brothers/Big Sisters Berry Big Run,June 28, 2008, 9:00
a.m.
Cedar Creek Park Historic Cedarburg, WI The
17th Annual 5k run/walk draws over 500 participants and kicks
off the Cedarburg Strawberry Festival. The run/walk course is
throughout the historic Cedarburg and is USATF-certified with
computerized results. Run/walk pre-registrants receive a free,
uniquely designed commemorative t-shirt. Prizes awarded for the
first three best finishers in several categories. All proceeds
go toward Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ozaukee County. Click

2008 Ozaukee County Humane Society Pet Talent Show. Will
your pet be the star of the show at the Ozaukee County Humane
Society’s Pet Talent Show? This annual outdoor event during
Cedarburg’s Strawberry Festival will be held on Saturday,
June 28 at 10:30 am, in the parking lot at Cedar Creek Settlement,
located at the corner of Washington & Bridge. Enter your pet
on site by 10:00 am or register in advance using the entry
form.
Whether your pet is fluffy, furry or feathery there are several
categories to enter*Best
Dancer *Largest Smile *Most Unusual Pet Trick *Best Festival Outfit
* Best Wiggler *Most Talkative.
Entry fee is $3.00 and all pets must be leashed or in an enclosure.
Entrants under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. For information

Wine and Harvest Festival Contests and Competitions
Historic
District Merchants are invited to participate in the Annual
Scarecrow Contest for Wine & Harvest Festival. Build
you scarecrow on Thursday, September 18 between 8:00 a.m. and
4:00 p.m. Judging will begin at 4:00 p.m. The more whimsical,
creative and fun the better! Scarecrows will should remain on
display until Monday, September 22. Check out the great prizes!

Chalk It Up—Sidewalk Art Contest Saturday,
September 21, 2008.From 11:00 am-2:00 pm come and express yourself
at this NEW Sidewalk Art Contest. Kids and adults can draw within
designated squares on the sidewalk at Cedar Creek Park for a chance
to win cash prizes. Register to enter at the Cedarburg Cultural
Center or at Cedar Creek Park on Saturday, September 21, 2008.
Kids Categories: Ages 5 & under—1st place $25, 2nd $15;
6-8—1st place $50, 2nd $25; 9-12—1st place $50, 2nd
$25; and 13-17—1st place $75, 2nd $50. Adults: 18 and over—1st
place $100, 2nd $75. Registration fee is $3.00 for kids and includes
a box of chalk. Adult fee is $5.00 and must provide own chalk.
Registration begins in September.

Try your hand at sculpting a block of ice. The Clinebell ice blocks
are sponsored by local businesses and the sculptures enhance the
Historic District long after the close of the Festival. Registration

2nd Annual Sno-ball Tournament
Join in the fun at the 2nd Annual Coed Sno-ball Tournament sponsored
by the Cedarburg Parks & Recreation Department. Games begin
on Saturday, February 7 at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Trophies for
1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Team Entry Fee: $50. For more information
